Care to Dance?

Just finished watching the bracket unfold for WBB on selection Monday. The Oklahoma State Cowgirls were handed a 4 seed, exactly as I predicted. Good guess, I guess! Briefly, we considered going to the game on Saturday since everyone is on spring break. Then, we saw that it was an 18-hour drive. That squelched any of the 1st round travel plans we had. Although, we promised ourselves that if God smiles upon the Cowgirls and they make the final four, then we're definitely going to San Antonio. Crossing my fingers!

Bedlam III

We made the trip to Kansas City to watch the Oklahoma State Cowgirls play the Oklahoma Sooners in Bedlam III at the Big XII WBB Tournament. Well, we got a bonus. We arrived early enough to get to watch the undefeated Nebraska Cornhuskers WBB team play Texas A&M. Something went terribly wrong for Nebraska and terribly right for A&M with the Aggies handing the Cornhuskers their first defeat of the season. But we were in good company. We were surrounded by the Texas A&M Aggie Dance Team. First, they outperformed the Nebraska halftime routine by a country mile and, second, they were the nicest group of girls to the kids. They took time to take pictures with them and talk with them. Very admirable! They were a class act all the way. Then, we watched Bedlam III, OSU lost in a tough battle to OU, and we went out to eat some Kansas City BBQ with the rest of the family that was there. (Thanks, KB!) Oh...and my sister-in-law played a contest during a timeout and won $500 in fuel from Phillips 66. Those basketball skills must run in the family or something. The end.

Upset!

What a nail-biter tonight! It was the quarter-finals of the Big XII Tournament in Kansas City. OSU (7) was paired up with Iowa State (2) tonight after beating KU (10) last night. Iowa State was gonna be a fight, and a fight it was! I won't go into details. Just know the Cowgirls emerged victorious! Tomorrow is Bedlam III! OSU vs. OU (3)! I know the team is tired but...you gotta BELIEVE! Go Pokes! Yee-haw!

Pretty in Pink

At the Oklahoma State vs. Texas Tech WBB game in Stillwater. A pretty decent crowd in attendance but not much to cheer about, unless you're a Texas Tech fan. The Cowgirls had a tough night...didn't win.

It was "Think Pink" night, when coaches, players and fans are encouraged to wear pink to raise breast cancer awareness at the games, across campuses and throughout communities. (Yes! Pink & Orange! Delicious!) Tonight, coaches wore pink ties, some had pink shoes or pink shirts. Players either had pink uniforms, pink shoelaces or pink headbands. The officials were even using pink whistles! Now, if we could just get Pink to sing the national anthem or for halftime entertainment! Oh well. At least we had Holly Rowe from ESPN sitting in front of us.

Behind me was "Marky Mark and the Get Fresh Crew" all decked out in pink. They're smiling because at 7:15P, things hadn't gone too far south yet.

What's cookin'?

Guess who got dinner started tonight? After an afternoon and evening of running errands and moving kids to and fro, Andrew and I made it home first...just in time for the OSU WBB game against Missouri. So, mac & cheese and hamburgers were on the menu. So was this cool picture of the heating coils on the stove...and so was a Cowgirl victory!

Behind the bench

What an exciting basketball game this was! The Oklahoma State Cowgirls hosted the Kansas State Wildcats...two pretty-much equally matched teams. Good reason to be a little nervous for this game. OSU won the game 66-56 and are now 3-0 in Big XII conference play!

A family member provides these tickets for us whenever we want them so it's a nice perk and ALOT of fun to sit behind the bench. I couldn't decide which picture should be tonight's picture so...you're getting a triple-shot!

...then there's the OSU Pom Squad and cheerleaders over to my right. That's the amazing Kevin Gum & remarkable Casey Kendrick, radio voices for the OSU Cowgirls, sitting down at the media desk on the left.

Orange & Black Attack!

After watching the #23 ranked OSU Cowgirls defeat the #5 ranked Baylor Bears, we stopped at Walmart in Stillwater to pick up some more OSU merchandise. Ended up getting a couple of shirts, a license plate for the car, and an OSU wallet for A1.

OSU WBB New Season

My brother-in-law and his love affair with an orange jacket have come to this. Everyone thinks he looks like a sharp-dressed man...sharp and very ORANGE! Good luck finding one of those at Men's Warehouse. This is a promo video for the new season of Cowgirl basketball. Fun video.
