Over Dressed

I worked at a job fair today downtown. On my walk back to my car, I passed this statue and it made me a bit uncomfortable. The heat index was 114º. I'm surprised this guy didn't melt down into a shiny puddle of nothing. It had to be swampy wearing those pants in this heat.

Rising Water

We had a lot of rain today. A good way to gauge how much is to walk over to the creek and see how high it is. This creek washed out the bridge above it a couple of times last year so they built a bigger, stronger, smarter, better-lookin' bridge over the winter. So far so good, but we haven't had a good, hard, torrential rain to test it yet. The creek was up, though. It sounded like a real river was running through town.

Storm's a Brewin'!

The rain and the hail had just moved through, but this was building backwards. We walked at a quicket clip than normal to get home, just in case.

Chilly on the outside, chili on the inside!

Sara got a new, much larger crockpot for Christmas this year. She picked the perfect day to break it in. There is an arctic blast heading our way bringing snow and a high temperature of 9º tomorrow. What better way to keep warm than homemade chili!
