Amber's Artwork - The Choice of a New Generation

A couple of mornings a week, Amber spends time at Sara's office while Andrew is at weights. She'll watch a movie on a portable DVD player or read a book. Well, this week, she decided to draw. I found this on the kitchen table and was amazed at how good it was. I asked her how she drew it and she said, "I just leaned over to the trash can to look in it and drew on the paper." I think this is fantastic for a 7-year old. So, it made the blog. Grandpa Haden will be proud.

The Clubhouse

Sara has done a really cool thing for the kids. What was once used as storage has been turned into a clubhouse. The kids love it and their friends think it's pretty cool. She put a lot of work into it, and the kids did their share of decorating, too.

My Doppelganger

I brought a trade magazine home from work a while back. A long while ago. It's the March 2006 issue! Amber thinks I look like the guy on the right. I hope I look happier than he does here.

Whiskey Lullaby

More video from the Brad Paisley concert in Tulsa. This is "Whiskey Lullaby", his duet with Allison Krauss. Using an advanced 3-D video technology, she was able to "be there" to sing with Brad. It looks like she was really there, doesn't it?

The World

We went to see Brad Paisley this weekend in Tulsa. Here he is performing one of my favorite songs, "The World". The concert was great! Stay tuned for more...

Shrimp Boil

Sara's sister and her husband wanted to do something nice for us to celbrate both of our 40th birthdays. I had mine in Dec...hers is in Feb. So, just the other night, they hosted us and some friends of ours for one of our favorite meals ever...a shrimp boil! This is my brother-in-law, Kurt, spreading shrimp, sausage, chicken, carrots, corn, onions, lemons, etc. across their newspaper strewn table.

Arial shot! The beautiful thing about this meal is you don't use utensils or plates or bowls or anything. You eat with your hands and that's it. Simply awesome. I am so ready to do this again!

Here we are with our friends Jean and Dave who drove all the way from NE Kansas just to celebrate with us. They had never done this before and they couldn't stop talking about it after it was over. It was a great night full of great food, great wine and great friends.
40 ain't so bad.
